Stephen’s practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution, strategic portfolio management, and providing legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and validity. He has successfully guided clients through complex patent and trademark applications, ensuring their innovations receive strong legal protection. His work spans multiple technology areas, including computer hardware and software, image processing, fluid management, and mechanical and medical device technologies.

In addition to his legal expertise, Stephen has a strong scientific background, holding a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also conducted graduate-level research in nerve regeneration. Further advancing his technical knowledge, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, magna cum laude, while working full-time. He obtained his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was a member of the International Law Review.

A registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Stephen is also a member of the State Bar of Texas. He has authored or co-authored multiple publications, including articles in the International Law Review and Tissue Engineering, a leading biomedical journal focused on tissue repair and regeneration.
